Hydrophones frozen inside the ice amplify the sounds of the melting process, which are electronically processed and spatialized throughout the darkened gallery space. The result is a unique ambient soundscape that evolves over the course of several hours. Cryoacoustic Orb has been presented at venues across the United States, including the Ackland Museum and Morehead Planetarium at UNC, the University of Michigan (NIME, 2011), and Zhou Bros. Art Gallery in Chicago, IL (2011).
