His interests lie in examining how individuals who see themselves as outsiders, yet are inherently dependent on central governments, define themselves and work within or against existing social, economic and political structures. His dissertation, \u201c\u2018The Brazen Walls of this Kingdome\u2019: The History of the First Year of the English Parliamentary Navy, 1642-1643,\u201d examines the opening year of the England\u2019s civil wars from the unique perspective of the island nation\u2019s seventeenth-century navy.<\/p>\n<p>EH Course: <em>History of Animal Use in Science<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lecturer, History Timothy Daniels received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
