EHI Film Series, 2014-2015<\/em><\/p>\n

In a May 2014 interview with The Telegraph<\/em>, acclaimed filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki suggested that his original motives for his work were because, \u00a0\u201cI yearned for an earnest and pure world\u2026. I could no longer deny the fact that I wanted to make something life affirming.\u201d Visionary mind behind 11 films over 35 years, Miyazaki\u2019s animated films speak to the inner child among us all. In this film series, which features some of Miyazaki\u2019s most loved and critically acclaimed works, we intend to unpack the ecological forces inherent to this artist\u2019s work and legendary imagination (image source<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Please join us in the Fall 2014 quarter as we watch, enjoy, and discuss: My Neighbor Totoro<\/em>, Howl’s Moving Ca<\/em>stle<\/em>, Ponyo<\/em>, and The Secret World of Arrietty<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In Spring 2015, we will feature:\u00a0Spirited Away, Pom Poko, Tales from Earthsea, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Princess Mononoke.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
