Hotel and Restaurant in the ancient Montalván Pottery Factory. 2018. Sevilla, Spain. AF6 Arquitectos.

AF6 Arquitectos’ striking renovation of an old ceramic factory in Sevilla unites sustainability with local heritage for a distinctive take on green architecture. The factory closed in 2012, leaving behind a trove of pottery on the old Montalván shelves. The architects recycled all of the materials left on-site in the new design, alluding to the building’s history. The result is a colorful, unrepeatable structure that reflects an archaeological consideration of its own history while adhering to the sustainable mission of contemporary architects. (source).
